IL TARABUSO — THE BITTERN (BOTAURUS STELLARIS)

DAK S.r.l. has chosen this name for its line of high quality products in order to give its own modest contribution to environment and to the defence of the Italian ecological patrimony. The Tarabuso (bittern) is a rare bird of the heron family. Its distinctive character is shy and loath, it builds its nest in silent places, full of canals and of bed of reeds. Its peculiar song, similar to a blow in a bottle, can be heard many miles around and is the only way to detect its presence. This species is dying out because of the diminution of bogs covered in reeds, that create its habitat. The European Union itself cares for the future of this species and for that reason it is financing specific projects. The line of products "Il Tarabuso" represents a small contribution to point out the importance of saving the Nature.

 

THE "IL TARABUSO" LINE OF PRODUCTS

With "Il Tarabuso" line of products DAK S.r.l. offers its customers the opportunity to taste the best Italian extra-virgin olive oils. A particular care is given to the bottles that are especially made to contain the precious olive oil. Extra-virgin olive oil has to be kept in glass bottles, that prevents the adulterations of its flavour and characteristics, as it often happens when other substances are used for containers. We only use ecological bottles, made by firms able to recycle glass with modern technologies. The dark colour of the bottles is not chosen by chance, as it prevents light to decompose the chlorophyll of the oil, that would adulterate its characteristics. The cork and its thermoplastic protection fully shield the oil. The big wooden head of the cork allows simple handling. Together they give to the bottle a more elegant look, essential on a beautiful dining table. The wide range of products gives you the peculiar flavours of the Italian Regions.
